Ruth "Tami" Thomasine Rolley

Ruth “Tami” Thomasine Rolley, 78, of Bloomington, passed away Wednesday, November 02, 2016 at 12:24am at the LeRoy Manor, LeRoy, IL. Tami’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10am at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, Bloomington with Father David Halt officiating. A private family inurnment will follow at Funks Grove Cemetery after a time of fellowship with the family at the church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.

Tami was born on June 25, 1938 in Rochester, New York, the daughter of Alfred Dean and Lillian Helen Tester “Tessie” Sherer. She married E. William Rolley on February 27, 1965 in Bloomington, Illinois. She is survived by her husband William and their children: Tamsin (David) Hutchinson of Hainesville, IL, Katherine (Mark) Fay of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Al (Michelle) Rolley of Bloomington and Earl (Alia) Rolley of Santa Clarita, CA. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, her sister; Diane (Michael) Granum and her brother; Alfred (Pamela) Sherer of Bonita Springs, FL.

She is preceded in death by her parents. Tami graduated from U-High and Illinois State University with her degree in music. She was a member of the Delta Omicron and AAUW (American Association University of Women) and was a member of the Hands All Around Quilt Guild and St. Matthews Quilt Guild. Ruth was a concert pianist and piano teacher and worked as a Legal Secretary in her husband’s law firm. She was an avid knitter and Gourmet Cook. Ruth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
